In 1993, Kevin King and Mark Rutherford (uncle & nephew) started Atlanta Roofing Specialists Inc., a full service roofing contractor located in Marietta, GA. From the beginning, the demand for quality, ethical and reliable roofing contractors was evident and in just a few short months, ARS was officially incorporated and what was to become one of Atlanta’s most award-winning roofing contractors was born.
Prior to opening Atlanta Roofing Specialists, Kevin King had taken advantage of his degree in Business from UWG by working as an insurance repair contractor, gaining intimate knowledge and experience of the insurance industry’s estimating and qualification procedures and the business-side of roof contracting. While Kevin was building the knowledge that would prove invaluable to Atlanta Roofing’s success, Mark Rutherford was serving in the U.S. Army and gained his knowledge of roof contracting through hands-on experience as a roof installer since 1987.
Mark and Kevin realized early on that reputation is everything. Low-quality and even outright roofing scams were prevalent even back then and they knew the best way to build a business is to build trust. Throughout the years, ARS has solidified their position as one of Atlanta’s most trusted roofing contractors by maintaining the highest levels of service and meeting the requirements to achieve memberships is organizations known to accept only quality roof contractors.
